Food production, processing and distribution sector

The "Production, processing and distribution of food" sector is constituted by the category of entities:

• enterprises with a food profile in the sense of the definition from art. 3 point 2 of Regulation (EC) no. 178/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 January 2002 establishing the principles and general requirements of food law, establishing the European Food Safety Authority and establishing procedures in the field of food safety, which operates exclusively in the field of logistics and wholesale distribution and large-scale industrial production and processing

in accordance with the provisions DECISION no. 55 of January 31, 2025 for the approval of the list of competent sectoral authorities in the field of resilience of critical entities , the competent sectoral authorities for the "Production, processing and distribution of food" sector are Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority .
