The "Drinking water" sector is constituted by the category of entities - Suppliers and distributors of water intended for human consumption within the meaning of the definition in art. 2 lit. A) from Government Ordinance no. 7/2023 regarding the quality of water intended for human consumption, approved with amendments by Law no. 96/2024, with the exception of distributors for whom the distribution of water intended for human consumption represents a non-essential part of their general activity of distribution of other basic products and goods

in accordance with the provisions DECISION no. 55 of January 31, 2025 for the approval of the list of competent sectoral authorities in the field of resilience of critical entities , the competent sectoral authorities for the "Drinking Water" sector are the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests, the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration, as well as the Ministry of Economy, Digitalisation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism.
